French railway police shoot man with fake weapon in Paris, also bystander injured

When seeing the agents, the suspect brought up a weapon, on which the police fired different shots. The man, who would not have responded to the orders of the agents, was seriously injured and would be in danger. The weapon in question turned out to be a fake weapon, reports the Paris public prosecutor’s office. A bystander was also injured, but his injuries would be less serious.

The public prosecutor opened two studies: an investigation regarding violence against a person acting in an official capacity or is responsible for a public task, and another investigation with regard to arms violence by a person acting in an official capacity or is charged with A public task.

On X, the local rail network Rer C announced that the Paris-Austerlitz station was temporarily not served for safety reasons. Both the police and the army signed present. A safety zone was set and the shops in the station closed. Later in the afternoon the train traffic was gradually resumed.
