Election committees mainly allow state lists-including FDP lists clean

The election will be made in almost three weeks. A month before the Bundestag election, the state election committees in the federal states checked the state lists submitted by the parties. Most lists were approved without complaints, such as by the CDU, SPD, FDP, AfD, Left Party and BSW, as the election committees announced at the end of January.

In some cases, however, the lists were rejected because, for example, the required number of support signatures did not exist. Depending on the country, up to 2000 signatures are necessary. This affected, for example, the pirates, the union of values ​​or the party. In individual cases, candidates were canceled because the legally required documents were missing.

The meetings took place in public. Against the decisions of the state election committees, complaints can be filed with the Federal Election Committee, which will then be on January 30 at the latest.

On February 23, voters can vote on the state lists with their second vote. In the run -up to the headlines, a complaint about the establishment of the state lists of the FDP in 14 of the 16 federal states.

According to reports, it was about the allegation of the advance against the principle of secret elections in the establishment proceedings in the respective national associations. Lower Saxony and Berlin were therefore excluded from the complaint.

However, the election committees found no violation of the right to vote when the FDP’s possible violations of the FDP’s possible violations.
