Trump says the US will take control of the Gaza Strip

United States President Donald Trump said on Tuesday during a press conference alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the US will take control of the Gaza Strip and rebuild the region.

“The US will take control of the Gaza Strip and will be responsible for dismantling all non -detonated pumps and other weapons on site,” Trump said, adding that after cleaning the Palestinian enclave, currently controlled by Hamas terrorists, the US will drive Economic development, creating a number of “unlimited” jobs and housing for the population of the area. Trump said “everyone I talked to love the idea of the United States to have that piece of land.”

When questioned by CNN About “Who do you imagine living in the Gaza Strip?”, Trump replied that “imagine people from all over the world.

“Let’s make it an unbelievable international place. Gaza’s potential is unbelievable. Representatives from around the world will be there,” said the president.

According to the Republican, the Palestinians only want to live in Gaza today because they have no other “option.”

Earlier, during the meeting with Netanyahu, Trump defended the definitive relocation of Gaza Palestinians to other countries, stating that the site is currently a “hell” and should no longer be inhabited.

“My hope is that we can do something really good, something really positive, so they don’t want to go back. Why would they want to come back? That place has been hell, ”Trump said at a press conference at the Oval Hall.

The US president estimated that between 1.7 million and 1.8 million Palestinians would be resettled.

“They would be relocated to a place where they can have a beautiful life,” he added.

Trump criticized the previous government for not taking concrete measures in the region, stating that the weakness of his predecessor, Joe Biden, resulted in “serious damage” to the global scenario.

Despite the rejection of countries such as Jordan, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia to the idea of absorbing Palestinian refugees, Trump said he was confident that these nations will accept the residents.

“I believe Jordan and Egypt will accept. I know they say no, but I say they’ll accept it, ”he said.

During the press conference, Netanyahu praised Trump as “the greatest friend Israel ever had in the White House” and highlighted the decision of the US president to release the sending of armaments previously blocked by the Biden government.

“You have released ammunition that had been retained from Israel,” said Israeli prime minister.

Netanyahu also stressed that Israel intends to end the war against Hamas with a decisive victory.

“We will finish the war by winning the war,” he said. “The victory of Israel will be the victory of America,” he added.
