Trump announces sanctions against TPI and actions against “anti -Christian bias”

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, signed on Thursday (6) executive orders to impose sanctions against members of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the creation of a task force to face what he called “anti-Christian bias” within the US government.

In November, the Court of Hague issued arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and a leader of the terrorist group Hamas for alleged war crimes and against humanity in the current one Conflict in the Gaza Strip.

According to information from the BBC, the executive order imposes financial and visa restrictions on ICC members involved in investigations into US citizens or allied countries and the family members of these court members.

In the document, Trump claimed that the ICT adopted a “shameful moral equivalence” between Hamas and Israel, who would be restricted to his right to self -defense, while Iran and terrorist groups would not receive the same treatment.

The United States, like Israel, are not signatory to the Rome Statute, which created the ICC, and therefore do not recognize the jurisdiction of the court.

The House of States had already approved sanctions against TPI members, but the Democrats prevented the bill from advancing the Senate.

At the time of the approval of sanctions in the House, the ICC stated that “regrets any attempt to undermine the independence, integrity and impartiality of the court.”

In another executive order, Trump determined the creation of a task force to “eradicate anti-Christian prejudice” within the US Federal Government.

“My administration will not tolerate anti -Christian government instrumentalization or illegal conduct aiming at Christians. The law protects the freedom of Americans and groups of Americans to practice their faith in peace, and my administration will apply the law and protect these freedoms, ”said Trump, according to CNN reports.

“My administration will ensure that any illegal and improper conduct, politics or practice that targets Christians is identified, closed and rectified,” he added.
