Bavaria demands complete assumption of costs from the federal government

From a Bavarian point of view, the federal government must cover the costs entirely in the future, “after all, the Germany ticket – as the name suggests – was a federal wish.” Bernreiter is also the chairman of the Conference of Ministers.

Union leaves the future of the ticket open

Since May 2023, the Germany ticket nationwide has enabled trips in all buses and trains of local and regional transport at the uniform monthly price. In January, the monthly price rose by almost a fifth of 49 euros to 58 euros.

Former funds are only laid down for this year. The federal government gives a grant of 1.5 billion euros each year to compensate for loss of income for transport companies – because most public transport subscriptions were significantly more expensive beforehand. The countries also give a total of 1.5 billion euros. The Union had already left the future of the ticket open.
