The former Turkish prime minister proposed to attach Gaza to Turkey

Former Turkish Prime Minister Akhmet Davutoglu, heading the “Party of the Future”, proposed to declare the Gaza sector by the Autonomous Region of Turkey. He recalled that for several centuries of gas was part of the Ottoman Empire.

The politician proposes to hold a referendum in the sector on joining Turkey. “The Ottomans were the last legitimate rulers of the Gaza. Under any other control, the residents of the sector failed to become citizens. But they fought shoulder to shoulder with our ancestors,” he said.

Türkiye officially supports the creation of the Palestinian state. Davutoglu also speaks of this possibility. “But, while the state has not yet been created, they may well become an autonomous district of Turkey,” Turkiye Today quotes the retired Prime Minister.
