The football players of RB Leipzig have added the next setback to Turbine Potsdam in the Bundesliga. The team of coach Stephan Jonas turned the game against the bottom and won 4: 1 (0: 1). Mia Schmid (17th) surprisingly brought the Brandenburg leaders into the lead, but this was not enough for the first win of the season. Leipzig, on the other hand, secured fifth place in the table.
In the training center on Cottaweg, the turbines needed something in front of 692 fans to find the game. In the 16th minute there was the first good goal opportunities through a corner. The lead goal followed a few seconds later: Schmid played the ball far from the sixteen into the goal area, where RB goalkeeper Elvira Herzog was far too far in front of her box.
Turbine with many opportunities
After that, the Potsdam women became more aggressively agile and, despite the high pressing of the Leipzig women, became more promising opportunities. RB meanwhile had problems using the gaps in the opposing defensive effectively. The few situations in front of the gate were able to defuse Turbin’s final woman Vanessa Fischer.
In the second round, however, the guest team missed to further expand the lead. That revenues within a few minutes. Only Leipzig’s Emilia Asgeirsdottir (56.) scored unexpectedly from the penalty area, then Giovanna Hoffmann (60th) used a penalty. From then on, the Brandenburg women hardly came to the train, again Hoffmann (81st) and Vanessa Fudalla (90.+3) increased for Leipzig.
