This announcement comes a few hours after Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic jihad confirmed that three Israeli hostages will be well released on Saturday. Their names were revealed at midday: Sacha Trupanov, Sagui Dekel-Chen and Yair Horn.

A week of uncertainty

The Palestinian Islamist movement ended several days of uncertainty on Thursday, saying that they are ready to respect the calendar agreed in the truce agreement, and therefore to carry out a new exchange of prisoners for hostages. This truce had entered into force after 15 months of war in the Gaza Strip, launched by the attack on Hamas on October 7, 2023 against Israel. It has since been subjected to the test by exchanges of threats between Hamas and Israel.

This Monday, the Palestinian organization accused Israel of having violated the cease-fire agreement, blaming it “inability to respect the terms” of the latter, which the Hebrew state had denied, before ” Strengthen the area strongly with additional troops for defensive missions ”and by preparing for a resumption of the armed conflict.
