Livan authorities: Flights of Iranian airlines in Beirut will not resume until February 18

The authorities of Lebanon notified Tehran that flights of Iranian airlines in Beirut were suspended at least until February 18, Reuters reports.

It was previously agreed that by February 18, the Israeli defense army would complete the withdrawal of its forces from Southern Lebanon. However, it is unlikely that this will happen. The IDF noted that the “stripping” of the South Lebanon from the weapons and infrastructure of Hizballa has not yet been completed, and the Livan army has not yet fully controlled the areas that were previously under the control of the fighters of the Allah party.

Last week, the head of the Arab department of the press service of the IDAL, Colonel Avihai Edrai, said that Beirut International Airport is used by the Iranian “Corps of the Sentinel of the Islamic Revolution” to transfer money to Hizballle, and Israel will not allow the re-equipment of the group. Soon after this, the authorities of Lebanon announced that the Rafik Hariri airport would not temporarily receive Iranian airlines. This decision caused the indignation of the supporters of the Hizballs, who hold mass protests near the airport.
