Doctors must change the treatment of Pope Francis due to his complicated change and will have to be hospitalized longer.
“The results of the test in recent days and today showed that the respiratory infection caused by many bacteria, leading to the need to change the treatment. Hospitalized in an appropriate time, “the Vatican on February 17 issued a statement about the health situation of Pope Francis.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni previously said the pope’s spirit was still good, he slept well and still read the newspaper. A source from the pope also confirmed that there was no alarming sign since he was hospitalized in Gemelli in Rome on February 14.
It is unclear how the 88 -year -old pope’s treatment is changed, but the information about complex illness has sparked concerns about his health. Pope Francis, who had to remove a part of the lungs when he was young, before he was admitted to the hospital, had difficulty breathing for more than a week and repeatedly asked his assistant to read his speech on his behalf.

At the weekly meeting on February 12, the Pope said that he could not read the lecture and smiled and said: “I hope the next time can read it.” But then he still participated in events, including the meeting with Prime Minister Slovakia on the morning of February 14, before being hospitalized.
Pope Francis was hospitalized for three nights in March 2023 due to bronchitis and was treated with antibiotics. In December of the same year, he had to cancel his plan to Dubai to attend the United Nations Cop28 Climate Change Conference also due to bronchitis.
Besides this disease, the pope also has many other health problems in recent years. He used a wheelchair to move from 2022 due to chronic knee pain and had to use sticks in rare times to stand up. He also fell several times in the past months.
