Chancellor candidate Merz in the Potsdam Schinkelhalle: again protest against asylum votes

The occasion was the joint vote by Union and AfD for migration policy in the Bundestag at the end of January. The demonstrators scourged this as a breach of taboo. Asylum law must be defended, it said. The demonstrators were spacious with metal grilles from the access area to the Schinkelhalle. Dozens of pole rents were used to see more than ten larger emergency vehicles on site.

Greenpeace environmental activists were also on site-with an e-double-decker bus. On this there were lettering such as “Protecting democracy!” And “Taxing billionaires, saving climate!”. Sarah Zitterbarth, Greenpeace expert for climate policy, called for an ecological billionaire tax on site. The concept behind it: According to the concept, assets are to be taxed from 100 million euros with two percent, and an extra surcharge of 0.5 percent should apply to particularly climate -damaging investments. The earnings of up to 200 billion euros won by 2030 are to be spent on a nationwide expansion of local public transport or for a permanently cheap Germany ticket.

Since the vote in the Bundestag, there have been large demonstrations in numerous cities against right-wing extremism and the course of CDU boss Merz, also in Potsdam. However, Merz has repeatedly excluded cooperation with the AfD after the Bundestag election.
