Dronkaard Damaged famous 12-corner stone in Cuzco

A drunken man damaged the famous 12-corner stone in Cuzco, Peru, on Tuesday. The police announced this. The piece of Inca heritage was irreparable damage. The vandal risks up to six years in prison.

The six -tonne stone is now part of a wall in the palace of the Archbishop of Cuzco. He stands out for his perfect place in the eleven stones along it, who stay in place without a cement or mortar. Cuzco is the old capital of the Incarijk and UNESCO World Heritage.

According to the police, the Vandaal, a 30-year-old Peruan who was clearly drunk, attacked the historic stone with a hammer. The attack was filmed by security cameras. Various excerpts of the stone have been released, causing that “irreparable damage to”, said Jorge Moya, the representative of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture in Cuzco. The suspect was arrested and can be sentenced to six years in prison for damaging cultural ownership.
