The forces of the army of Lebanon entered 11 villages in the south of the country

The command of the Livan army announced that the Lebanese military are currently deployed in 11 villages in the south of Lebanon, from where the forces of the IDF had previously entered.

It is expected that the Lebanese military will be introduced to other border sections south of the Litani River, coordinating their actions with the Committee on Supervision of Compliance with the Agreement on Crossing and the UN Time Forces in Lebanon (Unifil).

Today, February 18, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement that entered into force on November 27, 2024, the Israeli defense army withdraws troops from Lebanon.

At the same time, the forces of the IDF will remain in the south of Lebanon in five strategic areas: 1) in Labbune (the western part of the border, opposite the Israeli village of Shlomi), 2) in Ramia and the jib Blata (the central part of the border, opposite the Israeli village of Stula), 3) in 3) in Bidide, Bint-Jbeile and Marun Ar-Rasa (central part The borders, opposite the Israeli village of Avivim), 4) in the UADi-Salyuki area (the eastern part of the border, opposite the Israeli village of Margaliot), 5) in the Al-Khiyi area, Kfar-Kila, Uadi Ayun and Amra (eastern part of the border, opposite the Israeli village Metula).

Judging by the available data, the IDF does not plan to retreat from these strategic positions in the foreseeable future and transfer control over them to the Livan army. According to some estimates, the IDF will “linger” in these positions for a period of two to eight months, but it is possible that the “delay” will be longer.
