Baku responded to Mirzoyan’s statement about false trials

“It is not only Azerbaijan’s right to hold those suspected of war crimes, but also the obligation of international law,” said Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, responding to the statements made from the UN Chair of Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

Mirzoyan spoke publicly in Baku for the first time in the international order, noting that false trials against 23 Armenians are being held in Azerbaijan at the moment. The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed that they are arbitrarily imprisoned and that the criteria for the human rights necessary for the proper trial are ignored.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan remembers Yerevan, noting that Baku has guaranteed and ensures the procedural rights of the defendants in accordance with international standards.

16 Armenians, including three former presidents of Artsakh, and Minister of Defense Ruben Vardanyan, who go on hunger strike about overtaking about a week, are on hunger strike on the two former lawsuits in Baku.

Baku has made Armenians heavily accused of genocide to terrorism.
