“One last trip”: Shiri Bibas and her two children, Ariel and Kfir, symbols of the hostage drama in Gaza, buried this Wednesday

Shriri Bibas and his two Ariel and KFIR boys, respectively 32 years old, 4 and 8 and a half months old during their capture by Hamas, will be buried this Wednesday, according to their family and the hostage families forum. “This Wednesday, we will accompany Shiri, Kfir and Ariel for their last trip,” said this week a statement published this week on behalf of Yarden Bibas, the father now widowed, and her sister-in-law, Dana Siton Silberman.

Like the family of deceased, the hostage families forum calls “the public to stand along the career of the funeral procession with Israeli flags and to accompany them in their last trip”. According to the Times of Israel, thousands of people are expected.

Funeral praise broadcasts

The procession will start from Tel Aviv to head to the Kibbutz where the Bibas family lived, not far from the border with Gaza. He had to set off around 7:45 am local (6:45 am in Paris) to arrive around 9:15 am local (8:15 am in Paris), according to the forum of hostage families. The funeral praise will be broadcast on the Place des Otages de Tel Aviv at 11:30 am local (10:30 am in Paris). The funerals themselves will be reserved for family members and close friends to allow a “personal and intimate” farewell, the family said.

Shiri Bibas and his two boys, Ariel and Kfir, kidnapped at the Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, became in Israel the symbol of the tragedy that struck the country that day with the unprecedented attack on Hamas, and mobilization for the release of hostages.
