On Wednesday, February 26, the Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow, at the request of the investigation, sent CSHCRICT Ekaterina Barabash, accused of spreading “fakes about the Russian army,” by the request of the investigation.

Earlier, Ekaterina Barabash, detained on February 25, was charged with “the spread of fakes against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.” TASS cited the following statement by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation: “The investigating authorities of the IC in Moscow opened a criminal case against Catherine Barabash. It is accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public dissemination of obviously false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation). Investigative actions were carried out, during the interrogation, she recognized the guilt in full.” Another message of TASS said that Ekaterina Barabash threatens up to 10 years in prison for anti -war publications in social networks.

Ekaterina Barabash is a journalist and film critic. She worked in such publications as Interfax (from where she was dismissed for disagreement with the policy of the Russian authorities in 2016), Forbes, “Independent Gazeta”, “General Newspaper”, “Such Affairs”, the newspaper “Day”, at the Radio Svoboda radio station. He is an employee of the Republic.
