North Korea has sent new forces to Kursk region to participate in the war against Ukraine.

It took place in early February 2025, South Korean media reported, citing national intelligence.

South Korean Joongang, citing many sources, notes that North Korea has sent up to Russia to Russia in late January.

The media reports that North Korean troops moved to Kursk’s front by Russian trucks and military planes. They are motorized and intelligence, which did not take part in battles last year.

In early February, North Korea’s leader Kim Non-Dont reaffirmed P-Genyan’s continued support to Russia.

On December 14, 2024, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced the use of North Korean troops against the Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region. The Pentagon estimated their number 11,000.

According to the South Korean side, as of January 2025, 300 North Korean soldiers were killed, and another 2.7 thousand were wounded.

Moscow and Pyongyan did not confirm, but did not deny the entry of North Korean troops to Russia and their participation in the battles.
