The second anniversary of the tragedy in the temporium: mass protests were held in Greece

On Friday, February 28, thousands of people came to a rally to the Greece parliament on the call of relatives of the victims of a large railway accident in 2023, demanding to conduct a thorough investigation and punish the perpetrators, TASS reports.

Two years ago, on February 28, 2023, at the Evangelizmos station in the town of Tempe, near the city of Larisa (more than 200 km northwest of Athens), a frontal clash of two trains-freight and passenger. There was a fire, three cars got off the rails. 57 people were killed, 85 were injured.

Relatives of the victims of this disaster believe that the necessary investigation was not carried out.

This morning, thousands of people came to parliament in Athens with posters “We will not let the crime,” “We – the souls of 57 dead”, “We will not forget, we will not forgive”, “We demand court and justice”, “politicians to answer”.

The police used special equipment to accelerate the crowd.

According to the Greek ERT-NEWS television channel, rallies in connection with the tragedy in Tempe are held not only in Athens, but also in Thessaloniki, Patra and 220 cities of Greece, as well as in 82 cities abroad.
