Palma – Drink a sangria in a beach bar on Ballermann – that will soon be over. These restaurants on the promenade should disappear completely!
The redesign of the Playa de Palma Mallorca is in full swing. Parts of the beach wall have already been demolished, the old promenade name is to be changed.
And now according to Pedró Marin (48), chairman of the Asociación Hoteleros Playa de Palma (Hotelverband der Playa de Palma), the 15 Balnearios (beach bars) are also to be gone. This also reports that the “Mallorca Magazin“.
Therefore, the beach bars on Mallorca should go away
Celebrating tourists on beach bars – as here on “Ballermann 6” – could soon be a thing of the past in Mallorca
Pedró Marin (48) on BILD: “We Hoteliers have made a proposal for abolition. We informed the mayor that we see the concept with the 15 beach cafes as outdated. ” And further: “I think the buildings on the beach could instead use for public sports and water activities or as public toilets.”
What does the Balearic Manage say? According to Marin, Palma’s mayor is open to this point. According to BILD information, the current concession of the so-called beach kiosks is still running until 2031. But Marin follows: “We demand that the town hall with the coastal protection authority in Madrid clarifies that they can be removed earlier.”
Beach in Mallorca should grow bigger
Marin explains the background: “The main thing is that we want to adapt and modernize the promenade to the tourist requirements. We also lose a lot of sand every year. We want to enlarge the beaches and the Strand Drag up to six meters inland and build a new beach promenade. ”
Will the most famous party mile Mallorca soon be drained?
The party tourism is supposed to not restrict this: “What we no longer want is more ruthless tourismbut we are not against fun and celebrations. We just don’t want to see more people on the street, urinate or scream around. That is pleasant for nobody. “
In addition, Marin adds: “The central topic that we had discussed with the mayor was not the beach kiosks, but it was about the plan for safety in summer.”
Marin adds: “In the long run, the Playa will turn into a safe and quiet place.” Doesn’t sound like a party.
A beach bar on Playa Ciutad Jardín in Palma was already demolished last week. However, this has nothing to do with Marin’s plans. It was too close to another restaurant – according to the building regulations, it was not allowed.
