US Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to the FBI on Thursday, accusing the intelligence service to retain files on the investigation against billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, accused of forming a sex trafficking scheme involving more than 250 minors.
The case surfaced this week after the promise of Bondi of public tona all documents related to the criminal case.
The prosecutor asked the FBI – now officially commanded by Donald Trump Kash Patel ally – the full file of the Epstein case, however she received only about 200 pages of documents, much less than last year in a civil process connected to Ghislaine Maxwell, former loan and the financier’s stamp.
“I repeatedly questioned whether this was the complete set of documents in response to my request and the FBI repeatedly assured me that we had received the full set of documents,” Bondi said in the letter.
“Last night, I learned from a source that the FBI was in possession of thousands of pages of documents related to Epstein’s investigation and indictment,” he added.
According to Fox NewsBondi demanded sharing from other files until this Friday (28). “Until 8 am tomorrow, February 28, the FBI will deliver the full Epstein files to my office, including all records, documents, audio and video recordings and materials related to Jeffrey Epstein and their customers, regardless of how such information was obtained,” Bondi wrote.
“There will be no retention or limitations to mine or access,” said the attorney general.
Bondi stressed that “sensitive” information about the victims will be analyzed before anything is publicly disclosed. She also required Patel an internal investigation into the case within two weeks.
