Erdogan stated that Ocalan’s call is a step towards “without terrorism” Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that the call for the founder of the Kurdish Workers’ Party is the beginning of a new phase to create a “without terrorist attacks.”

“Efforts for Turkey free of terrorism … have been a new stage since yesterday,” Erdogan said on February 28.

Abdullah Ocalan, the founder of the Kurdish Workers ‘Party of the Kurdish Workers’ Party, has been “disarmed and integrated into the Turkish state” since 1984.

“We have the opportunity to take a historic step on the way to destroy the terrorist attack,” Erdogan said.

Ocalan’s call was welcomed by the United States, the European Union, as well as Iraq and Iran, who also have a large Kurdish population.

“We believe that this will help to establish peace in this troubled region,” Brian Hughes, Spokesman for the National Security Council of the White House, said about Ocalan’s call.
