The Romania army makes a controlled detonation of a Russian explosive drone fallen in its territory

The Romania Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday the controlled detonation of the explosive load of an unmanned plane of Russian origin on the eastern border of the country with Moldavia.

The remains of the device were specifically identified in an area near the border crossing of Giurgiulesti, just 500 meters from Moldavo territory, in an open space.

“The fragments came from an unmanned plane of Russian origin,” the ministry explained in a statement published on its Facebook page.

After an initial analysis, the ministry experts detected an “active combote load” that is under the process of ‘in situ’ detonation with the intention of “eliminating any danger to the local population”

“We ask the citizens to respect the recommendations of the authorities and remain away from the isolated areas until the security process is completed,” concludes the ministry.
