American adviser revealed the moment he asked Zelensky to leave the White House

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on February 28 came to the White House to meet US President Donald Trump, with the intention of signing a mineral agreement and seeking more support from the US leader. However, the event became a tension between the two sides, causing the joint press conference and the signing ceremony to be canceled.

US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz today revealed the atmosphere at the White House at that time, saying that he and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and senior officials “agreed to advise President Trump that we did not see any progress after the insulting in the oval room and all the interactive moves that would then pull everything backwards”.

Waltz adviser was tasked with asking Mr. Zelensky to leave the White House. “He didn’t realize anything,” US official said when asked if President Zelensky understood the situation.

“To be honest, the officials accompanying Mr. Zelensky have realized. The ambassador and his advisers want everything to progress, even some people have almost shed tears. However, President Zelensky still wants to argue,” Waltz recalls.

American advisers told the Ukrainian leader that “time is not on his side, both here and on the battlefield, most importantly, the US aid and the tolerance of the Americans are not infinite.”

According to Waltz adviser, Mr. Zelensky was not aware that “the US has a new president and determined to implement a new approach towards peace”.

Ukrainian officials have not commented on information.

Zelensky left the United States and landed in the UK today, expected to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and attended the European leaders’ conference to discuss support for Ukraine on March 2.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said that the visit to the US of Mr. Zelensky “was a completely political and diplomatic failure of Ukraine”. She criticized Zelensky “haunted to continue conflict” and declared Russia’s goals in the campaign in Ukraine.

European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen, all expressed support for Ukraine after the meeting.
