Experts warn: Hezbollah waits patiently and restores its power quietly

Despite the harsh heads of Hezbollah during the beginning of the fighting, Israeli and foreign experts warn that it is too early to eulogize the Shiite organization. This is according to advertising in the Lebanese newspaper “Al-Ahbar”, which is associated with Hezbollah, who has quoted Israeli estimates.

“Israel has no guarantees that Hezbollah will be removed from the regional equation,” the newspaper said, stating that the scenario that Israel fears is that Hezbollah remains the dominant military force in Lebanon, given that it still holds tens of thousands of missiles and combatants.

The newspaper marks the many losses caused by Hezbollah due to fighting with Israel, claiming that Israel is following Hezbollah’s conduct after the war in which many senior officials, including Hassan Nasrallah, were killed, and his advanced military abilities were injured.

But the central question that employs the decision-makers in Israel is whether the current conditions will allow Hezbollah to eliminate or weaken to surrender to Israeli-American dictates.

In this context, in the article, “El Alezbar” presents the US and Israel as operating in full coordination, as part of a joint effort to weaken Hezbollah and the change of political reality in Lebanon.

According to the newspaper, Israel appreciates Hezbollah’s condition after eliminating its leaders and harming its military abilities, examining whether the organization can be eliminated or weakened to the extent of surrender to American-Israeli dictates. Israel is trying to take advantage of regional variables to weaken Hezbollah, most notably the fall of the Syrian regime and the cessation of supply routes through Syria. In the newspaper, it is emphasized that this is a significant change, as Syria was a major support of the organization.

At the same time, Israel is promoting a strategy to influence the political system in Lebanon, with the aim of creating a government that will operate for the restriction of Hezbollah’s weapons and weaken its status in the internal force. This approach combines aggressive actions along with complex political calculations, as part of an overall move to weaken the organization.

In spite of all this, “El Ahabar” claims that so far Israel’s target for the elimination of Hezbollah has not yet been achieved, and there are no signs that it will be achieved soon, “there are factors that can be relied upon for continued effort, but there are no guarantees for success.”

The newspaper quotes the Israeli expert Eyal Zisser, a professor in the Middle East History Department who claimed that “Israelis prefer to rely on heart wishes” that Hezbollah was severely damaged and looking for calm, similar to the claims that came up after previous clashes. But he emphasizes that “the reality in the field is not designed by wishes.”

“Despite Israel’s military achievements, Hezbollah has not been defeated, not eliminated, nor have he been eliminated from his motives to attack Israel.

Zisser warns that “Hezbollah has its own logic, which is different from Western or Israeli logic, and Hezbollah’s life expectancy is measured in the years and decades, not in days or weeks.” He warns that Israel should be ready for unexpected developments, perhaps earlier than it appreciates.

The Al-Ahabar newspaper finally presents a firm conclusion that Israel is wrong if it appreciates who eliminated the threat from Hezbollah. According to the newspaper, despite the significant vulnerability, the organization is still a significant military force in Lebanon and will remain a dominant player in the regional arena. The newspaper emphasizes that Hezbollah works long -term, and is ready to wait patiently while restoring his power.

According to the British Guardian, Hezbollah, who once is considered the strongest militia in the world, is now dealing with new reality and severe blows that have severely hurt his status. The Gardien emphasizes the dramatic changes in the area: Lebanese army raids on the organization’s strongholds in Beirut’s suburbs, loss of supply corridor from Syria with the fall of the Assad regime, and the impairment of the organization’s economic infrastructure. In the British newspaper’s opinion, Hezbollah is in an unprecedented weakness that may change the regional power balance.

At the same time, Hezbollah still remains the dominant political power in Lebanon. They, too, note that Hezbollah is currently in the state of waiting and recovery, and citing a diplomat in the beers that warns that “their value should not be underestimated.”
