Zelensky goes back and says he accepts Trump’s terms about war

On Tuesday (4), the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, released an official statement dealing with several of the conflict points between his country and the United States in recent days. Among them is the statement that “Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace to closer.” Two days earlier, Zelensky had said that an agreement with Russia would still be “very, far away” – which annoyed President Donald Trump.

Since the discussion between the Ukrainian and Trump, on February 28, there have been episodes of removal from the US country compared to Ukraine. The strongest sign was the announcement, on Monday (3), the suspension of US military aid to the European country, which makes it quite fragile to resist Vladimir Putin’s Russian attacks.

In Tuesday’s statement, Zelensky says Ukraine is ready to “work under President Trump’s strong leadership for lasting peace.”

“We are ready to work quickly to end war, and the early stages may be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky – prohibition of missiles, long -range drones, energy pumps and other civil infrastructure – and truce at sea immediately if Russia does the same. So we want to advance very fast for all upcoming stages and work with the US to reach a strong end agreement. ”

Zelensky also made a point of valuing US financial and military support so far.

About the recent chat in the White House Oval Hall, the Ukrainian President said that “it is unfortunate that it happened that way” and that “it is time to fix things.” On the day of the disagreement, an agreement was expected to be signed between the countries for the supply of strategic minerals and rare land to the United States, which did not occur. Ukraine has vast reserves essential chemical elements for various technological and defense industries, such as Lantânio, Céria, Praseodymium, Neodymium, Promécio and Samário.

Trump saw the partnership as a “compensation” for “about $ 300 billion” sent by the US to support Kiev in the war against Russia. Now Zelensky said that “Ukraine is ready to sign it at any time and in any convenient format.”

It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian expressed concern about the effectiveness of the agreement regarding the protection of the country. In the negotiations he asked Americans to submit security guarantees to Ukraine under the agreement and signaled that Trump had not clearly demonstrated what he wanted to do.

Read Zelensky’s note in full:

“I would like to reiterate Ukraine’s commitment to peace.

None of us want an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace to closer. No one wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I are ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership for lasting peace.

We are ready to work quickly to end war, and the early stages may be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky – prohibition of missiles, long -range drones, energy pumps and other civil infrastructures – and truce at sea immediately if Russia does the same. So we want to advance very fast for all upcoming stages and work with the US to reach a strong end agreement.

We really value how much America did to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment things changed when President Trump provided Javelins to Ukraine. We are grateful for that.

Our meeting in Washington at the White House on Friday did not happen as it should. It is unfortunate that it happened that way. It’s time to fix things. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive.

Regarding mineral and safety agreement, Ukraine is ready to sign it at any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step towards greater security and solid security guarantees, and I really hope it works effectively. ”
