AS-SISI plan: Gase restoration in five years and $ 53 billion

Egyptian President Abd al-Fatta al-Sisi presented a plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza sector at the League of the Arab countries. It is designed for five years, its financing will require $ 53 billion. Earlier, the UN said that the recovery of the sector will cost 50 billion.

The plan is designed to become an alternative to the initiative of US President Donald Trump, who offered to take the sector under US control and build a “Middle Eastern Riviera.” At the same time, the residents of Gaza were proposed to be relocated to other countries.

The initial stage is designed for six months, and its implementation will cost three billion dollars. At this stage, the ruins will be clearing and cleansing unexplored ammunition. Temporary housing will be erected in GAZ.

The next stage will last until 2027 and require $ 20 billion. The main infrastructure will be restored, including roads, water supply and sewage, as well as public buildings. The construction of 200,000 housing units is provided.

The implementation of the third stage should be completed in 2030 and will cost another $ 30 billion. The construction of another 200,000 housing, industrial and commercial zones, the fishing port and the airport is supposed.

The Egyptian plan is proposed by Hamas from the management of gas, transferring the power of the Provisional Administration consisting of technocrats and controlled by the Arabic, Muslim and Western states. Egypt and Jordan will take upon themselves the training of police officers.

It is said in the document about the possible creation of peacekeeping forces in gas and on the western coast and that the armed groups operating in gas are a problem that needs to be solved. How exactly the problem will be solved and who will finance the project remains unclear.
