Pope Franciscus thanked the believers on Thursday evening with a hoarse voice for their prayers in a short audio message. “I will assist you from here,” he said in a message that, according to the Vatican, was admitted earlier in the day. The 88-year-old Pope has been treated in the hospital for almost three weeks for a double pneumonia.

“I thank you from the ground of my heart for the prayers you do for my health from Piazza (Sint-Pietersplein in Rome, Red). I assist you from here, “said the Pope. The church leader has not appeared in public since his hospitalization on 14 February. His state of health remains stable for several days, the Vatican reported.
