Tesla garage shot at: FBI and police of Oregon investigate “politics” motive after previous incidents

The shooting took place in Tigard, a suburb of Portland. At least seven bullets were fired, where three cars were damaged and several windows of the Tesla garage died. One bullet pierced a wall of a desk and ended up in a computer screen. Nobody was injured: the case was abandoned when she was shot at around 1.46 in the morning.

A suspect has not yet been identified. The Tigard police say they work with federal partners including the FBI and ATF to ensure “a thorough and broad investigation”.

“While the motive has not yet been confirmed, we are aware that other Tesla dealers through Oregon and the country have become the target for political reasons,” the police explain.

Molotov cocktails, bullets and graffiti

Points of sale of the brand of electric cars from billionaire Elon Musk, the controversial adviser to American President Donald Trump, have been more often affected by vandalism lately. For example, earlier this week a 41-year-old man who is suspected of having thrown Molotov cocktails at the end of January at a Tesla garage in Salem, the capital of Oregon, and to have shot the same garage a month later. Last week a 42-year-old woman was federally charged because she would have thrown Molotov cocktails several times at the parking of a Tesla garage in Loveland, Colorado, and with graffiti “Nazi cars” to have sprayed on the building.

In Maryland, Vandalen sprayed “No Musk” and a Swastika on the wall of a Tesla dealer in Owing Mills last weekend. And on Monday a fire broke out on Tesla loading posts outside of a shopping center in LittleLeton, Massachusetts. The police assume arson.

Opponents of Musk and Trump have already organized several “Tesla Takedown” demonstrations. On Thursday, about 350 campaigners came together on a Tesla garage in Portland, Oregon.
