The leader of the anti-Israel protest at Columbia University arrested

The agents of the American immigration office arrested a Palestinian student leader who played a key role in the protests against Israel on the University Campus of Columbia, in New York. Mahmoud Khalil was in a residence owned by the University, on the Manhattan campus, when numerous agents entered the apartment and arrested him.

The American government, according to what Khalil’s lawyers have declared, ordered the revocation of the student visa, even if the Palestinian has the green card, the permanent residence permit.

The agents, according to the media, threatened to arrest Khalil’s wife, an American woman in the eighth month of pregnancy. Khalil was brought to the Elizabeth immigration detention center in New Jersey, but his wife, when he tried to go and see him, had no news. Palestinian may have been transferred to Louisiana.

A spokesman from Columbia University said that the agents had to present a capture mandate in order to enter the campus, but did not want to say if this act had been presented.
