After the group rape of Israeli, hundreds of tourists left the Khampi village in India

Hundreds of tourists, mainly the Israelis, hastily left the area of the village of Khampi, located near the ancient city of Vyzhayanagar, the former capital of the Vyzhayanaga Empire. Some of them told local media that they were afraid for their safety.

The owner of the Guesthouse in Hampi said that about 400 tourists left the district, while others decided not to go out of fears for their safety at night.

The news service of the ITV channel gives the story of a 21-year-old Israeli tourist, who admitted that she and her friends are afraid for her security after attacking a compatriot, they also decided to leave Hampi.

The reason for this was a cruel attack on a group of tourists in the area of the village of Khampi in the north of the Indian state of Karnatak. According to the investigation, the criminals drove up to the tourists on a motorcycle and “asked for money” for gasoline when they were refused, they pushed men into the canal (two men were injured, but managed to get out, the third drowned, and his body was found later), and two women, including a tourist from Israel, raped.

Two of the three suspects were detained shortly after the incident, the third tried to hide, but was soon detained in the state of Tamilnad in the south of India. All suspects will be charged with “group rape, extortion and attempted murder.”
