Kyiv accepted the US offer of an immediate 30-day ceasefire if Russia also agrees to this proposal. This is stated in a press release distributed by the office of the President of Ukraine following negotiations held in Saudi Arabia.
“The United States will inform Russia that reciprocity from Russia is the key to achieving peace,” the report said.
Based on the results of negotiations, the United States announced the resumption of the exchange of intelligence with Ukraine and the restoration of “assistance in security” of Ukraine.
The press release of Zelensky’s office also indicates that during the negotiations the importance of humanitarian efforts was discussed during the ceasefire, including the exchange of prisoners of war, the release of the held civilians and the return of forcedly displaced Ukrainian children.
After the parties decide on the composition of their negotiation groups, peace negotiations will be immediately begun. “The Ukrainian delegation once again emphasized that European partners should be involved in the peace process,” the report said.
