Trump Program for Gaza: USA and Israel contacted African countries

The United States and Israel contacted senior officials in three governments in East Africa to discuss their territory as a potential target for the resurgence of Palestinians displaced from the Gaza Strip as part of President Donald Trump’s proposed plan for the day after the war, the AP and Israel officials reported Friday.

Officials in Sudan said they rejected a proposal from the United States, while official officials from Somalia and the detached Somalia area known as Somaliland said they did not know about any contacts.

According to Trump’s plan, more than two million Gaza residents will permanently be sent elsewhere. The US President suggested that the United States take ownership of the area, oversee a prolonged cleaning process and open it as a real estate project.

The Palestinians in Gaza rejected the proposal and reject Israel’s claims that the departure will voluntarily. Arab states, including Egypt and Jordan, expressed resistance and offered an alternative rehabilitation program to leave the Palestinians. Human rights organizations said coercion or exerting pressure on the Palestinians to leave could be a war crime. However, the White House says Trump is “behind his vision.”

In AP’s report, we noted that because all three countries are poor, and in some areas where violence is even inventory, the proposal also doubts Trump’s stated purpose to reconnect the Palestinians in Gaza in “Beautiful Area.”

American and Israeli officials confirmed the contacts with Somalia and Somaliland, while the Americans also confirmed Sudan. According to them, it is unclear how much progress has been achieved in the efforts and at what stage the discussions were held.

The separated hand from the United States and Israel to the three possible destinations began last month, just days after Trump presented the Gaza program alongside Netanyahu, according to the American officials, who said that Israel was leading the discussions.
