Filipino ex-president Duterte now gets rice after complaints about Dutch prison food

The Filipino former president Rodrigo Duterte feels “better” now that “good is taken for him”. His daughter Sara Duterte, vice president of the Philippines, declared that on Sunday. Earlier she had revealed that her father’s biggest complaint was the Dutch food served in the prison in Scheveningen.

That problem has since been resolved. “He gets rice. That is what we have asked and it is perfectly cooked, correctly according to the Filipino taste,” said Sara Duterte. According to her, her father also asked for his personal clothing and a “stock of Cola Light”.

Rodrigo Duterte is suspected of crimes against humanity during his ‘war against drugs’ between 2011 and 2019. He is currently in a detention center in Scheveningen, awaiting a hearing at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
