Russia and the United States agreed to cease the attacks on power plants, pipelines and refineries

The Kremlin declared that the truce on attacks on energy infrastructure in Ukraine and Russia, discussed with the United States, particularly concerns refineries, gas pipelines and power plants.

The Russian presidency said in a statement that “in case of violation of the moratorium by one of the parties, the other may be considered released from the obligation to respect it.” This truce was announced last week by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, but it never really applied, since kyiv and Moscow accused each other of continuing the attacks.

According to a statement from the Russian presidency, the list of affected facilities was “Agreed between Russia and the United States.”

Among the infrastructure are oil and pipeline refineries, places that are almost weekly white of Ukrainian drone attacks in Russian territory.

Electrical, transformers and substations are also included, which Russia has frequently attacked in Ukraine, causing massive electricity cuts.

Finally, there are nuclear centrals and hydroelectric dams, especially sensitive infrastructure, which kyiv and Moscow have repeatedly accused of attacking in the last three years.

The Russian presidency said that “in case of violation of the moratorium by one of the parties, the other may be considered released from the obligation to respect it.”

The truce could also “extend mutual agreement.”
