A visit against the backdrop of riots: Fidan and Rubio discussed the situation in Turkey, Syria and Ukraine

Against the backdrop of mass opposition protests in Turkey, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held negotiations in Washington with the Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan.

“We are cooperating on key issues, from such as the world in Ukraine and the South Caucasus, and to the support of Syria in the fight against Iran’s destabilizing actions. I expressed concern about arrests in Turkey,” Rubio said after the meeting was completed.

The Turkish media recall that on March 16, a telephone conversation of US President Donald Trump and Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan occurred on March 16. During the current meeting, the issue of organizing the American-Turkish summit was also discussed.
