The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, has applauded on Wednesday the “commitments” signed in the United States conversations with Russia and Ukraine and, in relation to the advances for a safe navigation agreement in the Black Sea, has indicated that, if necessary, “it will be a crucial contribution to food security and the chains of global supplies.”
The head of the United Nations has recalled the “importance” of both Ukraine and Russia for international routes and markets, according to a statement from its office in which it is recalled that the UN has already supervised the first agreement for the export of cereals through the Black Sea.
Since then, the organization has continued to insist on the need for “free and safe navigation” apart from the persistent conflict, while “remains compromised” so that Russia can also benefit from the entry of agricultural products and fertilizers to the global market.
“The good generals of the Secretary General are still available to support any effort towards peace,” said his spokesman, who has also transferred the “hope” that the diplomatic initiative of the Donald Trump administration can “pave the way for a high durable fire and contribute to achieving just, complete and lasting peace”, with “full respect” also of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
