Romania is allowed to shoot military drones

Romania may now foreign Shoot military drones that violate the country’s airspace. This regulates a new law that the parliament with a view to the fighting in the neighboring Ukraine had already decided at the beginning of the month. Now the constitutional court has given the green light.

On the other hand, the three extremely right parliamentary parties Aur, SOS Romania and Pot, to which Russia friendliness is accused. Among other things, they complained that a “authority transfer” to foreign powers was allowed in such operations. The constitutional court has now rejected this lawsuit.

In the NATO state of Romania, the country’s army and forces of the allies, in particular, observe the attacks of the Russian army on targets in Ukraine that are close to the border.

Since the outbreak of the war, ruins of Russian drones have fallen on Romanian territory near the border. Romania’s army leadership had long complained that the legal framework was not sufficient to be able to shoot these objects even in peace, if they appear in Romanian airspace.
