The Turkish Authorities have one Attorney of the detained Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu arrested. This shared Turan Taskin Ozer a member of the largest opposition party Chp, on Friday. Ozer wrote in a contribution to X that the lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan handle. The latter defended Imamoglu in the most recent investigation and had now been imprisoned for invented reasons.
The CHP MP did not give any further details. Ekrem Imamoglu, which is located in some polls before Erdogan, was detained on Sunday for bribes and thus triggered the greatest anti -government protests in Turkey for a decade.
Concern in the USA
US foreign minister Marco Rubio declared that he had the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan the concern of the United States about the protests and arrests. “We see the same news as everyone else,” said Rubio in front of reporters on the plane on the return flight from a Caribbean trip.
“We are certainly concerned about these protests and some of the reports,” he added. After the meeting of the two foreign ministers, Rubio had already expressed his concerns on this topic this week and said that he spoke to his Turkish counterpart about it. However, Turkey had contradicted his representation and said that Rubio had not expressed any concerns in the conversation with Fidan.
