The building collapsed in Bangkok because of the earthquake, 67 people trapped

The 30 -storey building under construction in the north of Bangkok collapsed due to the influence of the 7.7 -degree earthquake in Myanmar, causing 67 people to be trapped.

The 7.7 -degree earthquake in Myanmar today has a serious impact on Thailand, making the building under construction to be a government office in Bang Sue district, Bangkok capital, collapse.

“When I came to check the scene, I heard people call for help, begging for help,” said Workat Sukthai, Deputy Chief of the Sue District Police Department.

“We estimate that hundreds of people are injured but we are still determining the correct casualties,” he said.

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said the earthquake in Myanmar caused damage to many high -rise buildings in the capital, but has not determined the specific quantity. He said the inspection was being conducted and called on people to be alert.

Initially, Thailand issued an emergency in Bangkok, however, Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul later rejected this, despite emphasizing the situation “still serious”. The Thai Civil Aviation Agency said that all flights arrived and left Bangkok’s capital still operating normally.
