Riots during Shiite demonstration in Nigeria demand twelve dead

In Nigeria, twelve were killed in riots between demonstrators of a Shiite demonstration and security forces. This is apparent from a report from the intelligence services.

In the Nigerian capital Abuja, a pro-Palestinian demonstration of the Islamic movement of Nigeria (IMN) took place on Saturday. It came to riots between the demonstrators and the order services. Eleven protesters and a soldier were killed.

A few years ago, the Nigerian authorities declared the IMN illegal because the members would preach the Islamic revolution in the country.

The oil-rich West African Nigeria is the most densely populated country of Africa with nearly 200 million people. Estimates assume that in Nigeria there are about as many Christians as Muslims.
