The Israel Defense Forces (FDI) have reported Monday about a military operation carried out in the center of the Gaza Strip and in which they have managed to destroy an underground tunnel of one kilometer of extension built by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), maneuvers in which they have managed to kill 50 alleged terrorists.
According to the Israeli military authorities, the Yahalom Unit of the FDI, a special unit of engineers, has intervened in the operation of the 252nd Sinai division, a division of reservists that operates in the southern area of Israel, included in the Gaza Strip.
The objective of this “selective offensive” is to “expand the security zone in the north and center of the Gaza Strip”, according to the Israeli army, which has shared a video of the moment when the Hamas tunnel jumps through the air.
In addition to destroying the underground network and killing half a hundred members of Hamas, the IDF have reported that this operation has also served pear to locate and destroy a missile and pitchers production workshop.
“The FDI forces will continue to operate against terrorist organizations in the E Gaza Strip to protect citizens of the State of Israel,” Israeli military authorities have risted in a statement on their website.
