The Russian authorities have warned on Tuesday that the models that the United States manages to negotiate the end of the war in Ukraine continues without contemplating a solution “to the underlying causes” that have caused this conflict, this being the “main demand” of Moscow.
This has been transferred by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Riabkov, who has lamented that these demands are “completely out” of the negotiation framework, which passes, first of all, to reach a high fire.
“Currently everything that exists is an attempt to find some kind of plan to first achieve a high fire (…) and then move on to other models, in which, in our opinion, our main demand does not fit: solve the problems associated with the deep causes of this conflict,” he explained.
In an interview for the magazine of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Riabkov has indicated that although all the proposals raised by Washington are taken very seriously, “they cannot accept everything as it arrives.”
In that sense, Riabkov has also explained that these “priorities” Russian were raised even in the latest negotiations with the United States in Saudi Arabia.
Although it has not detailed what those causes that motivated the invasion in February 2022, Moscow has put on several occasions, among other arguments, that the security of the Ethnic Russian population would be questioned after the increase of a “forced” Ukrainian nationalism, pulled from the West.
Shock with Iran
On the other hand, Riabkov has warned that the “inappropriate” threats and ultimatum of the United States to Iran put at risk the security of the Middle East, especially when the nuclear issue is a reason for confrontation.
Over time, “they will complicate the situation and there will be consequences that, in general, will require much greater efforts in the future to mitigate the dangers that arise in the Middle East, where the tension is already quite high,” he said.
“We must redouble our efforts to try to reach an agreement on a reasonable basis. Russia is willing to offer its valuable services to Washington, Tehran already all interested,” he said.
