Trump said he would gladly run against Obama in the 2028 elections

US President Donald Trump said that he would gladly compete with Barack Obama in the 2028 presidential election. It should be noted that the 22nd amendment to the US Constitution prohibits the re-election for the third term.

“It would be great. I never thought about the third time, but they say I can solve the question. I don’t know about this. I want to do the best work. We have four more years, almost four full years,” he said.

Obama, like Trump, will not be able to run for a third term. To change the 22nd amendment, the consent of two-thirds from each of the chambers of the Congress, and then ratification of 75% of the states, is required.

For the first time, Trump publicly announced the possibility of running for a third term recently in an interview with NBC. To the direct question whether he wants to remain president and after the expiration of the current cadence, Trump replied: “I love to work.”
