Hamas warns that half of the hostages are found in the areas that Israel intends to bombard

The spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Abú Obeida, has warned this Friday that half of the hostages that follow alive are in areas that Israel has urged to evacuate before imminent bombing.

Obeida has announced that these people will not be transferred and will remain guarded “under strict security measures” despite the “extremely dangerous” situation in which they are, according to ‘Filaastin’, a newspaper related to Hamas.

“If the enemy is concerned about the life of the prisoners, they must immediately negotiate their evacuation, or their liberation. Who warns is excused,” he warned, blaming the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Nentahu, any responsibility for what may happen with these people.

“If he had worried about them, he would have respected the agreement he signed in January and most of them would probably be in their homes,” he said.

The agreement referred to by obeida lasted just a few weeks, in which the exchange of 33 hostages was negotiated for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. However, Israel resumed the bombings on the Gaza Strip, claiming Hamas’s alleged lack of commitment.

From that, some 1,250 people have died under Israeli bombs, which are part of the more than 50,600 deaths since the beginning of the Israeli military offensive in retaliation for the attacks of October 7, 2023.
