British, France ‘progress’ on the plan to bring troops to Ukraine

Zelensky said Ukraine has achieved “actually progressive progress” when negotiating with England and France about the idea of ​​deploying forces to this country.

“There was a real progress and the first sketch of how to deploy the security forces of partners,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on April 5, after negotiations with the British and French army leaders in Kiev.

Zelensky and Ukrainian army commander Oleksandr Syrsky and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on April 4 held talks with British General Staff Tony Radakin and French counterpart Thierry Burkhard on measures to support the post -conflict Kiev.

The President of Ukraine thanked him and France for this effort, saying that this is a common job that helps to bring long -term and reliable peace to Kiev. He added that allies are “making efforts to ensure security in Ukraine and offer reliable security”.

French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently led his efforts to deploy the “guaranteed force” to Ukraine after the conflict in the country ended.

“We are discussing the presence in the ministry, in the air and at sea. We also discuss the air defense and some other sensitive issues,” Zelensky on April 4 mentioned the meeting with two French and British military leaders. “We will have military meetings every week. Our partners understand what Ukraine needs.”

The French Chief of the French Army Staff Burkhard said on April 5 that the parties discussed the “security options” provided by the International Union. “We want to ensure long -term and sustainable peace in Ukraine, an essential condition for the security of the whole Europe,” he wrote on X.

Mr. Burkhard added that the goal of their visit to Kiev was to “maintain steadfast support” for Ukraine, helping the country’s army to continue dealing with Russian forces. The remaining goal is to determine “a long -term strategy for military reconstruction efforts and innovation”.

US President Donald Trump is promoting negotiation efforts to end the Russian – Ukrainian conflict. However, the parties have not reached a comprehensive ceasefire, but only agreed to suspend the ambush on each other’s energy infrastructure.
