Iranian Foreign Minister: “Direct negotiations with the United States are meaningless”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Arakchi called direct negotiations with the United States on nuclear topics meaningless. It was this format that was proposed by US President Donald Trump.

“It is pointless to conduct direct negotiations with those who are constantly threatening with a power decision in violation of the UN Charter, especially if different representatives of this side act with conflicting statements,” he said.

The head of the foreign policy declared readiness for negotiations through intermediaries, however, he called the abolition of sanctions.

Recall: on March 30, Iranian President Masud Cyzeshkin said that in a response letter to US President Donald Trump Iran, the Iranian authorities refused him direct negotiations, but they said that they were ready to conduct a dialogue through intermediaries.
