According to official officials in Iran, the warning was given because of the “content of the national interests.” This is in accordance with Article 6 of the Iranian Press Law, which explicitly prohibits the publication of content affecting confidence, respect and interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the publication that sparked the storm, it was written: “Soon, thanks to the Shalah Suleimani’s blood, some bullets will shoot Trump’s head and he will drink the curse’s cup!” This appeared in the “Kihan” newspaper, close to Iran’s top leader Ali Khamenei. The newspaper was conducted by Hussein Shardomdari, who was appointed directly by the Supreme Leader.
This statement joins the repeated promises of Iranian regime officials for “severe revenge” following the assassination of the Kods commander, Qassem Suleimani, in 2020.
