Iran president insists: negotiations with the United States will not be carried out directly

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masud Kiteshkian said that Iranian-American negotiations, which should take place in Oman in the coming days, will be led through an intermediary, and not directly, as the US President Donald Trump said.

“Enemies believe that our position is weak, but, as in other cases, they are mistaken. We will not act with our dignity and will defend the interests of the country with all our means,” he said, demanding from Western countries to cancel the sanctions imposed against Iran.

On April 7, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi confirmed that indirect negotiations with representatives of the United States will begin this week. It is reported that the Arakchi will be headed by the Iranian delegation, and the American will be headed by the special settlement of the US President in the Middle East, Steve Whitkoff.

On the Arakchi page on the social network X, a message was published: “Iran and the USA will meet in Oman on Saturday to conduct indirect negotiations at a high level. It is equally the possibility and testing. The ball is on the side of America.”
