“It is a gesture of solidarity that seems necessary to me,” Lombard told the broadcaster on Sunday evening BFM. This special tax brings the state around two billion euros.

From 250,000 euros gross annual income

Lombard explained that several tens of thousands of households are affected. The threshold for the rich tax is currently with an annual gross income of 250,000 euros for individuals and 500,000 euros for couples. “It is about finding a fair and permanent solution to combat the over-optimization of taxes that is not illegal, but which violates tax justice,” said the Ministry.

However, a special tax for large companies that bring in a total of eight billion euros should not be extended.
