Another tragedy in Egypt: A tourist from Romania in her 40s was killed today (Sunday) after being attacked by a shark off the coast of the Sahel fire, in the southeast of the country. This, after last night a 68-year-old woman was also killed by a shark, off the coast of Sinai.
As you may recall, the Austrian swam in the sea when the shark attacked her, cutting off her hand and leg. She managed to reach the beach, but died in an ambulance on her way to the hospital. The shark attack occurred in front of the shocked tourists who were at the scene and even managed to photograph the woman struggling to return to shore. At the time of the attack, there were more tourists in the water, who fled when they noticed what was happening. According to some reports, some of them tried to get the shark’s attention to let the woman attack
The British newspaper The Sun reported that the woman was an Austrian married to an Egyptian and living in Egypt. A medical team that treated her arrived at the beach and evacuated her to the hospital while resuscitation attempts lasted for a long time, but apparently the loss of blood and pain caused the shock that led to her death.
